On January 7, 2019, Deputy Garcia and Deputy Ruiz were dispatched to an Aggravated Robbery of a maintenance employee at a local housing complex.
Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the complainant, who informed them that while throwing out the trash, he was robbed at gunpoint by two males. The complainant stated that the males grabbed him from behind, repeatedly assaulted him, and then forcibly took his car keys, cellphone, and wallet. The suspects then proceeded to flee the scene, in an unknown direction, in the complainant’s vehicle.
EMS arrived on the scene, rendered medical attention to the complainant and took him to the hospital for further evaluation. Deputies left the case open pending further investigation.
On January 11, 2019, Deputy Garcia and Deputy Ruiz were given a tip of the location of a possible suspect involved in the previous aggravated robbery. Deputies made contact with the possible suspect and detained him for investigation purposes.
The complainant, who was assaulted a few days prior, arrived on scene and was able to identify the possible suspect as one of the men who assaulted him.
Deputies contacted the District Attorney’s Office and the charge of Aggravated Robbery was filed. The suspect was then taken to the Harris County Juvenile Probation Center to be fingerprinted and booked.
