At approximately 11:23 pm, Deputy Brekke observed a pickup truck almost sideswipe a patrol vehicle. Deputy Brekke attempted to initiate a traffic stop on the truck but the driver continued to travel three full blocks before coming to a stop near the 2100 block of Telephone Rd. When the suspect stepped out of the vehicle, he was uncoordinated, had slurred speech, and was unable to follow directions. The suspect was detained and Deputy Brekke found a prescription bottle in plain view of the suspect’s truck with the label scratched off. The pills inside of the bottle were identified as Tramadol, a Schedule IV prescription drug. The suspect admitted that he did not have a prescription for the pills and that he had gotten them from a friend.
The D.A. accepted the charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance on the suspect and he was transported and booked into Harris County Jail.
Great job Deputy Brekke!
