On February 25, 2019, at approximately 1:00 AM, Deputy Guerrero was conducting a patrol request of a vacant abandoned house at the 300 block of York Street. The patrol request stated that the location was possibly used for selling narcotics.
Deputy Maldonado also checked by on the residence and the deputies began to observe the exterior of the building for suspicious activity when they spotted a light on inside of the residence. Deputies retreated to the front of the residence and stood by for back up units. Deputy Price, Deputy Delgado, and Sergeant Soto arrived on the scene.
Deputies surrounded the residence and proceeded to knock on the front door to which they received no answer. Deputy Guerrero then proceeded to knock on the back door to which they heard someone from inside the house state that they were coming out with their hands up. The suspect exited the residence and was placed inside a patrol vehicle. Deputies then searched the rest of the residence for other suspects.
Upon investigation, deputies were able to spot a shotgun near the doorway, a revolver, a bottle of promethazine, a green leafy substance, a small scale, loose cash, a bottle containing a white powder, white rectangular pills, a backpack, a safe, and a TV with a live surveillance feed of the exterior of the residence.
The suspect stated that he, nor anyone he knew, lived inside of the residence and upon further investigation, it was discovered that the property belonged to another person.
Deputy Guerrero contacted the Harris County District Attorney’s Office and the charge of Unlawful Carry of a weapon was accepted. The District Attorney’s Office then advised that further investigation of the property be conducted by a K-9 unit to uncover any other possible narcotics.
Pct.1’s K-9 checked by to assist in the search for any additional narcotics and more narcotics were located in hidden areas.
In total, Deputies were able to recover $8,942.64 in cash, a shotgun, 4 handguns, 17.9 oz. of a leafy green substance, 12.6 grams of a brown powdery substance, 62.1 grams of a white grainy substance, 22.7 grams of a white rocky substance, 7 grams of a white powdery substance, 5.1 grams of white rectangular pills, 57 multicolored pills, 2 bottles labeled “codeine cough syrup”, 2 bottles containing a white powdery substance, 21.6 grams of a white powdery substance, and 38 boxes of 1000mg cannabis vape cartridges.
