Yesterday we had our very first Lunch With a Constable at Atherton Elementary School. We received the warmest of welcomes from Principal Dr. Lemons and were able to take a tour of the school. The school was truly beautiful, inside and out, and even had a garden on the roof where students had planted seeds!
After touring the school, we joined students as they ate lunch and talked to them about the role of law enforcement in our community. I asked the kids if any of them planned on becoming a police officer in the future and was pleasantly surprised to see just how many kids had raised their hands!
To end our visit, two groups of students performed a dance routine for us. You could tell they put a lot of effort into practicing these dances.
A big thank you to Dr. Lemons for allowing us the opportunity to visit with these exemplary students!
