On Tuesday, January 1st, at approximately 11:30 a.m., a suspect entered Lowe’s at 1000 Gulfgate Center Mall and attempted to leave the store without paying for merchandise. When confronted by a Lowe’s employee, the suspect brandished a handgun and shot the employee in the abdomen. A casing of a .380 round was later found at the scene.
The Lowe’s employee was transported to the hospital and is in stable condition.
The suspect is at-large and is considered to be armed and dangerous, if you see the suspect, do not approach him and call 9-1-1. The suspect is described as a tall, white male with a slim build and a receding hairline. At the time of the crime, the suspect was wearing a red hoodie with a Texans logo, khaki pants, white socks, and black sandals. The suspect left the store and drove away in a white, newer body style, 4-door, Chevrolet Malibu.
