Patrol Division

The Patrol Division is the most visible arm of the Harris County Constable Precinct 6 office. Deputies assigned to Patrol provide around-the-clock law enforcement services, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Whether answering a call for service, conducting a traffic stop, or simply maintaining a presence in the neighborhoods they serve, patrol deputies are often the first point of contact between the community and the Constable's Office.

What Patrol Deputies Do

Precinct 6 patrol deputies respond to a wide range of calls for service, including reports of criminal activity, disturbances, accidents, family violence incidents, burglaries, thefts, and suspicious activity. Beyond responding to calls, deputies proactively patrol neighborhoods, business corridors, school zones, and parks to deter crime and build familiarity with the people they protect. They enforce traffic laws, investigate motor vehicle accidents, conduct DWI detection, and execute outstanding warrants encountered during the course of their duties.

  • Criminal Investigations

On-scene investigations of burglaries, thefts, assaults, drug activity, and other criminal offenses, including evidence collection and report writing.

  • Community Engagement

National Night Out, school visits, community meetings, and outreach events that strengthen the relationship between deputies and the residents they serve.

Organization & Coverage

Precinct 6 is divided into patrol districts, each served by deputies familiar with the specific neighborhoods, businesses, and concerns within their area. Constable Silvia Trevino expanded the precinct from three districts to four, bringing deputies closer to the communities they serve and improving response times across the board.

In addition to standard patrol vehicles, Precinct 6 deploys Solo Units, motorcycle deputies dedicated to traffic enforcement and accident reduction, particularly in school zones and along high-traffic corridors. The precinct also maintains certified ATV deputies and bike patrol deputies who cover hike-and-bike trails, parks, and bayou greenways that traditional patrol cars cannot easily access.

All Precinct 6 patrol deputies are equipped with body-worn cameras, a measure implemented by Constable Trevino upon taking office to promote transparency and accountability in every interaction between deputies and the public.

Training & Standards

Every Precinct 6 deputy is a fully licensed Texas peace officer certified through the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE). Their training includes de-escalation and use of force, arrest, search and seizure, professional police driving, traffic law and crash investigation, criminal investigations and crime scene processing, firearms, emergency medical assistance, and field sobriety testing. Deputies also participate in ongoing continuing education to maintain their certifications and stay current with evolving law enforcement practices.
