Housing Housing Authority Contract (HHA)
The Housing Division was created following a contractual agreement between the Houston Housing Authority and Precinct 6. The contract funds deputies and supervisors to patrol specific public housing premises within the city of Houston and Harris County. Precinct 6 deputies work alongside the Houston Housing Authority and share in their quest of transforming lives and communities.
Precinct 6 maintains a contract with the Houston Housing Authority, providing patrol deputies to 15 public housing properties, including:
Historic Oaks of Allen Parkway Village, Historical Rental Initiative, Victory Place, Ewing Apartments, Cuney Homes, Long Drive Townhomes, Clayton Homes, Kennedy Place, Kelly Village, Fulton Village, Irvington Village, Oxford Place, Forest Green Townhomes, Heatherbrook, and Lincoln Park
Absent Student Assistance Program (ASAP)
The Absent Student Assistance Program, created by former Constable Victor Trevino, is a contract-funded initiative paid for by participating school districts whereby Precinct 6 deputies work collaboratively with teachers, school administrators, and parents to help keep students in the classroom. The program goal is to identify and resolve issues directly related to individual cases of truancy. The program began in 1991 and continues to have a positive impact on our youth.
