🚨 Crime Report | 📅 3-19-26 | 🏙️ East DowntownAt approximately 4:13 p.m., Deputy Espinosa was dispatched to Emancipation Ave. and Harrisburg Blvd. for an Assault call for service. The suspect allegedly punched a male in the nose and was throwing rocks at nearby vehicles.The suspect was located and became aggressive, throwing rocks at deputies and their patrol vehicles. The suspect ignored multiple commands to stop and was tased before deputies detained him. Multiple threats were made by the suspect to deputies.Charges were filed with the District Attorney’s Office for Assault, Assault on a Peace Officer, and Retaliation. Deputy Gomez-Chavez and Deputy Gamez responded to a theft call for service near 5010 Telephone Rd. 2 suspects exited a business with unpaid merchandise valued at $175.45 and placed it inside the vehicle.Deputies located the vehicle and the 2 suspects. During the investigation, deputies found a baggie containing meth, marijuana, and an unprescribed bottle of promethazine belonging to the passenger. The driver, Dericia Thomas, was charged with Theft Class B, and the passenger, Asia Thomas, was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance State Felony.
