PRECINCT 6 DEPUTIES ARREST SERIAL BURGLAR 

On April 24th, 2023 Precinct 6 received a call from Connieโ€™s Seafood (340 S 69th St, Houston, TX 77011) reporting that a burglary had occurred at the restaurant. Precinct 6 Deputy Talamantez arrived on the scene, and upon reviewing the security footage it was discovered that the suspect broke into the restaurant, stole approximately $6,000, left the building, re-entered the building, and stole an undisclosed sum of money from another area of the restaurant.
Once Precinct 6 obtained the video of the incident, Precinct 6 Sgt. Alvarado was able to review the footage and obtain a clear image of the suspect and sent it out to our patrol deputies on May 10, 2023. 
On May 11, 2023, Precinct 6 Deputy Talamantez was patrolling near the 6700 block of Harrisburg Blvd, Houston, TX 77011 when he spotted a man matching the photo and description of the burglary suspect. Precinct 6 Deputy Talamantez detained the suspect and found Blank checks from two other local businesses on the suspectโ€™s person. Precinct 6 Captain Tran, Deputy Garza, Deputy Ipina, and Deputy Gonzales arrived on the scene to assist. Precinct 6 Deputy Garza contacted the District Attorney to file the charges while Precinct 6 Deputies Ipina and Gonzales transported the suspect to the Harris County Jail where he was booked. The District Attorney accepted the charges of Burglary and Felony Theft.  
The Houston Police Department was also able to close two open burglary cases in the area that were believed to be committed by the same suspect. They are in the process of filing charges.

Suspect With Stolen Firearm Charged for Unlawful Carry of a Weapon, Discharging a Firearm Inside a Residential Area

At approximately 10:27, Deputy Macias was driving with K9 Deputy Ego when he was dispatched to our station at 5900 Canal St.

A witness gave a description of a male suspect who allegedly shot a firearm at a vehicle. Additional witnesses also witnessed the suspect running around the parking lot with a firearm in his hand. 

Deputy Macias located the suspect and detained him. The suspect was found to have a stolen 9mm firearm in his vehicle.

The District Attorneyโ€™s Office accepted charges for Unlawful Carry of a Weapon and Discharging a Firearm Inside a Residential Area and he was transported to Harris County JPC for booking.

Suspect Charged with Assault of a Peace Officer, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm

On March 22, Deputy Olivarez was advised of a male sleeping in the dumpster area of a business on Fulton St. Deputy Olivarez approached the male and noticed a firearm on the floor where the suspect was sleeping. Deputy Olivarez placed her foot on the weapon to secure the firearm and the suspect attempted to push her to grab the weapon. Multiple civilians assisted Deputy Olivarez and the suspect was detained. 

The suspect was found to be in possession of Meth and had a parole violation out of Austin, Texas.

The District Attorneyโ€™s Office accepted the following charges: Assault of a Peace Officer, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and Possession of a Controlled Substance. Deputies transported the suspect to Harris County JPC for booking.

At approximately 5:42 p.m., Deputy Macias was dispatched to a discharge of a firearm call near the 6600 block of Hillsboro St.

Upon arrival, Deputy Macias witnessed two males and a female drinking alcohol in front of a residence. Both males ran inside the residence before stepping back outside. Deputies determined who shot the firearm and the suspect was detained. Deputies recovered the firearm from inside the residence and located 7 spent casings outside of the residence.

The District Attorneyโ€™s Office accepted a charge on the male suspect for Discharging a Firearm Inside a Municipality. The suspect was transported and booked into Harris County JPC.

At approximately 11:24 a.m., Deputy Macias was patrolling with K9 Ego when he observed a male exchange money with another male for marijuana. The suspect entered his vehicle, which was illegally parked, and Deputy Macias activated his lights. Upon advising the driver that he was illegally parked, Deputy Macias could smell a strong odor of marijuana. The driver was detained and K9 Ego located 32 individual baggies of marijuana inside the vehicle. A larger bag containing approximately 54 grams of marijuana was also found. In total, approximately ยผ of a pound of marijuana was located in the vehicle. The District Attorneyโ€™s Office accepted a charge for Possession of Marijuana With Intent to Manufacture/Deliver on the suspect. Deputies transported the suspect to Harris County JPC for booking.

Technically that's a class b misdemeanor cite and release violation. This is weft the jail is overcrowded constable.

DNA Sample Leads to Arrest of Suspect Who Burglarized a Church, Causing an Estimated $15,000+ in Damage & Theft

On December 22, 2021, deputies were dispatched to Immaculate Conception Church in regard to a burglary that had occurred around 1:45 a.m. A male suspect damaged a door, glass, and an antique statue, causing an estimated $15,000+ in damages and theft. Deputies collected a DNA sample from urine found at the scene and submitted it for testing.  On December 12, 2022, the DNA sample helped identify the burglary suspect.

The District Attorneyโ€™s Office accepted a Burglary of a Building charge on the suspect. The suspect was determined to be at a rehabilitation facility for habitual offenders, serving on an unrelated charge of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Precinct 6 deputies took the suspect into custody and transported him to Harris County Jail for his active felony warrant.
