At approximately 1:48 a.m., Deputy Acuna and K9 Beny initiated a traffic stop at the 6900 block of Woodridge Dr. on a vehicle with an expired registration tag.

Deputy Acuna could smell marijuana emitting from the vehicle and the driver was unable to provide a driver’s license. With assistance from Deputy Campos, the driver and a passenger were both detained so further investigation could be conducted.

Deputies located two firearms in the vehicle and one was determined to be stolen. Deputies also found marijuana in the vehicle.

The District Attorney’s Office accepted a charge of Unlawful Carry of a Firearm on one suspect and the second suspect was charged with Felon in Possession of a Firearm. The second suspect also had an open warrant for Robbery.

Both suspects were transported to Harris County JPC for booking. Great work Deputy Acuna, K9 Beny, and Deputy Campos!

Precinct 6 Arrests Suspect Accused of Multiple Aggravated Robberies

On September 11, Precinct 6 deputies responded to a theft call at a pharmacy near the 1500 block of Lockwood Dr.

Deputies arrived at the place of business and the suspect fled on foot. Deputies located and detained the suspect, who they recognized from an ongoing investigation of multiple aggravated robberies in the area. 

The District Attorney’s Office accepted charges for Aggravated Robbery, Evading, and Tampering.

This arrest was made possible by the hard work of multiple Precinct 6 deputies and with the help of members of our community. Thank you Lieutenant Gomez, Sergeant Alvarado, Sergeant Lopez, Deputy Jason, Deputy Hill, Deputy Risher, and Deputy Ayoob for your assistance in making this arrest!

Evading Theft Suspects Getaway Halted By Vehicles Mechanical Issues

⚠️ Crime Report | 📆 August 18, 2023 | 🌎 Gulfgate

At approximately 1:07 p.m., Sergeant Wright, Deputy Smejkal, and Deputy Garza responded to a theft call at a home improvement store at Gulfgate Center Mall. Deputies located a vehicle that matched the description given by dispatch and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. The suspect attempted to evade deputies at a high rate of speed before his vehicle had mechanical issues and came to a complete stop. Deputies detained the suspect while further investigation was completed.

Inside the vehicle, deputies located tools taken from the home improvement store totaling over $600. The tools were returned to the store and the District Attorney’s Office accepted charges of Evading in a Motor Vehicle and Class B Theft. The suspect was transported to Harris County Jail for booking and processing.

At approximately 10:30 p.m., Deputy Rodriguez was at Lincoln Park Apartments when he smelled burnt marijuana emitting from a vehicle. Deputy Rodriguez spoke to the two occupants and the driver stated that they had just smoked a blunt. Both occupants were detained while further investigation was conducted.

Deputy Rodriguez discovered a bag of marijuana and a firearm inside the vehicle. The driver was determined to be a Felon. The District Attorney’s Office accepted a charge of Felon in Possession of a Firearm on the driver and the passenger was given a criminal trespass warning. Deputies transported the suspect to Harris County JPC for booking and processing.

Suspect Charged for Possession of a Controlled Substance With Intent to Deliver

⚠️ Crime Report | 📆 June 2, 2023 | 🌎 Lincoln Park Housing

At approximately 11:31 p.m., Sergeant Reed, Deputy J. Rodriguez, and Deputy Saldana observed a vehicle with no front license plate. Deputies spoke with the occupants of the vehicle and found that one of the occupants had an open warrant for theft. Deputies detained the suspect, who asked if she could give her belongings to her girlfriend. The suspect was found to be in possession of 162 multi-colored pills that appeared to be Ecstasy but were tested and found to have more Methamphetamine than MDMA in them.

The District Attorney’s Office accepted a charge for Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver/Manufacture on the suspect. The suspect was transported to Harris County JPC for booking and processing. The other occupant of the vehicle was issued a criminal trespass warning.

PRECINCT 6 DEPUTIES ARREST SERIAL BURGLAR 

On April 24th, 2023 Precinct 6 received a call from Connie’s Seafood (340 S 69th St, Houston, TX 77011) reporting that a burglary had occurred at the restaurant. Precinct 6 Deputy Talamantez arrived on the scene, and upon reviewing the security footage it was discovered that the suspect broke into the restaurant, stole approximately $6,000, left the building, re-entered the building, and stole an undisclosed sum of money from another area of the restaurant.
Once Precinct 6 obtained the video of the incident, Precinct 6 Sgt. Alvarado was able to review the footage and obtain a clear image of the suspect and sent it out to our patrol deputies on May 10, 2023. 
On May 11, 2023, Precinct 6 Deputy Talamantez was patrolling near the 6700 block of Harrisburg Blvd, Houston, TX 77011 when he spotted a man matching the photo and description of the burglary suspect. Precinct 6 Deputy Talamantez detained the suspect and found Blank checks from two other local businesses on the suspect’s person. Precinct 6 Captain Tran, Deputy Garza, Deputy Ipina, and Deputy Gonzales arrived on the scene to assist. Precinct 6 Deputy Garza contacted the District Attorney to file the charges while Precinct 6 Deputies Ipina and Gonzales transported the suspect to the Harris County Jail where he was booked. The District Attorney accepted the charges of Burglary and Felony Theft.  
The Houston Police Department was also able to close two open burglary cases in the area that were believed to be committed by the same suspect. They are in the process of filing charges. 
Great Job Precinct 6 Deputy Talamantez for recognizing the suspect and great job to our Precinct 6 Team;  Captain Tran, Sergeant Alvarado, Deputy Garza, Deputy Ipina, and Deputy Gonzales, who assisted in capturing and arresting this burglary suspect!
