Driver Charged with DWI After Running Red Light and Being Found Drunk

⚠️ Crime Report | 11-23-2024 📆 | 🌎 Gulf FreewayAt approximately 6:15 p.m, Deputy Martinez observed a vehicle run a red light at the intersection of Canal St and S. Wayside Dr. A traffic stop was initiated at the 300 Block of S. Wayside Dr. Upon deputies making contact, Deputy Wagner could smell an odor of alcohol emitting from the suspects breath. Deputies also located an empty 6 pack of beer in the back floorboard of the vehicle. The suspect had admitted to deputies that he had 4 beers prior to this incident.Deputy Martinez transported the suspect to Harris County Jail and was able to obtain two blood alcohol content results. Upon further investigation, deputies discovered that the suspect had open warrants for Failing to Register as a Sex Offender and Possession of a Controlled Substance. At approximately 2:49 p.m, Deputy Vollenweider and Deputy Richardson were dispatched to a call involving two males on a roof near 3100 Canal St. Upon arrival, deputies found both suspects leaving the location of the building and were detained for further investigation. The complainant confirmed both suspects as the two male subjects on the roof attempting to steal AC units and equipment. Deputies spoke with the maintenance manager who estimated costs of repairs for commercial grade business units would be $75,000. On Monday, October 28, 2024, Deputy J. Rodriguez was dispatched near 6820 Harrisburg Blvd for theft of a business. Upon arriving, the Deputy was advised that the suspect had fled on foot. The suspect passed all final points of sale without payment for the merchandise. The items stolen were 1 Dodger x Yankees Hat and 1 NBA All Over Patch. The price for the items that were stolen totaled up to $91.98.Deputy J. Rodriguez was able to locate and arrest the suspect. At approximately 9:40 p.m., Deputy Wagner was dispatched to a call regarding an animal when a separate incident occurred. While searching for a vehicle with a dog inside, a male and a female entered a gate at the location and ignored commands to stop. The female became combative and the male threatened to shoot the manager.During the incident, deputies also observed a male standing outside of a vehicle with a pistol on the floorboard. The male suspect had five warrants for his arrest and was a convicted felon. The suspect allegedly entered a construction site, took tools, and threatened the reportee with a pocket knife when he was confronted. The suspect reportedly returned to the scene a short time later and slashed a truck tire.Deputy Salinas located the suspect nearby and detained him.
