Precinct 6 is grateful to have partnered with Joseph House Community Outreach Center to give away a patio set to one lucky Senior on my R-U-OK Senior Program list. A big thank you to Apostle Stearns of Joseph House Community Outreach Center for providing this amazing outdoor patio set and for all that you do in the community.

The R-U-OK Senior Program routinely checks on the welfare of elderly residents in our community. If you are a Precinct 6 senior (55+) and would like to join the R-U-OK Program, please click the link in the comment section of this video and fill out the form. Alternatively, you can call my Assistant Miriam Muguerza at 713-274-3424 and she can assist you with signing up over the phone. We plan to do more giveaways in the future so stay tuned!
National Gun Violence Awareness Day falls on the first Friday of June each year. This year, Precinct 6 is helping spread awareness by participating in Wear Orange Weekend, which pays tribute to all the lives lost to gun violence each year and seeks to educate people about gun violence. Throughout the month of June, you may stop by 5900 Canal St. and visit the reception area on the first floor to receive a free gun lock, courtesy of Project Child Safe.

Keeping your gun locked when not in use is just one of many preventative measures we can take to keep others safe. Please watch this video for other firearm safety tips you can use to help keep our community safe.
My heart, prayers, and condolences go out to the family and friends of this sweet innocent little angel Arlene Alvarez, who was murdered on Valentine’s Day. I can only imagine the pain Arlene’s parents and family must be enduring. Please pray for them.🙏🏼
Last night our Precinct 6 deputies were present at a vigil for little Arlene Alvarez; there were hundreds of people present at the vigil on the site where the shooting occurred (Chase Bank on Woodridge at Winkler). They took a video of all the balloons that were released in honor of little Arlene and shared that while it was absolutely beautiful, it was emotionally sad.
Precinct 6 reached out to the Alvarez family and are honored to provide them with the upcoming courtesy funeral escort for their baby girl.
Thank you Familia Alvarez for this honor.🙏🏼💗
