On April 15th, Deputy T. Garcia observed a male suspect standing next to a vehicle at Selena Q. Perez Park, holding a small baggie of a green leafy substance in one of his hands. A female suspect was also observed sitting inside of the vehicle. As Deputy Garcia approached the male suspect, she could smell a strong odor of Marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Deputy Garcia observed a black handle and a clear plastic bag containing Marijuana sticking out of the male suspect’s pants. The suspect was detained and further investigation was conducted. The handle that Deputy Garcia spotted belonged to a .38 revolver and the plastic baggie contained four smaller baggies of Marijuana.
Precinct 6 Dispatch conducted a check of the weapon and it came back as stolen. The Assistant District Attorney accepted charges on the male suspect for Unlawful Carry of a Weapon and Possession of Marijuana in a Drug-Free Zone. The male suspect was transported and booked into the Harris County Joint Processing Center. The female suspect was released on scene.
